About Us
We are a group of clinical psychologists who strive to create a trusting relationship with clients and value the opportunity to create a welcoming space. We utilize an integrative approach to therapy, meaning that our approach is grounded in evidence-based treatment and also the understanding that people are best served by a flexible approach that pulls from various theoretical frameworks. This allows us to tailor therapy to best suit individual needs and wishes. We all have different approaches, experiences, and clinical styles. We offer services in English and French.

Jennifer Klassen
I am a registered Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, with qualifications in the areas of Clinical, Counselling, and School Psychology. After completing an undergraduate degree at the University of Windsor with an Honours Psychology with Thesis, I attended McGill University in Montreal to complete my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology.
I began my career working with the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board, gaining valuable assessment related practice and experience before entering into an administrative and clinical role as the board's Mental Health Lead for several years. Since 2018, I have been in private practice, working with children, adolescents, and adults.
I am bilingual in French and English, and I provide assessment and therapy services in both languages. I focus particularly in assessment for students in French school programs, both full French and French Immersion, as well as those transitioning from secondary to post-secondary programs. My therapeutic approach focuses, as needed, in different modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Emotion Focused Therapy. I believe in working collaboratively with my clients to create and support the development of meaningful goals.
Nicole Yarkovsky
I am a Clinical Psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario and I currently provide assessment and treatment to children, adolescents, and adults for a wide variety of clinical concerns and life challenges. I completed my Master’s and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Windsor, prior to which, I obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and Psychology from McMaster University.
In total, I have been providing clinical services in Windsor-Essex for over 10 years. I consider myself fortunate to have received training and mentorship from many local psychologists and allied health professionals and have enjoyed providing services in a variety of settings, including Children First, Windsor Regional Children Centre (RCC), Maryvale Adolescent and Family Services, Teen Health Centre, University of Windsor Student Counseling Centre, Greater Essex County District School Board, and in private practice. I also had the pleasure of completing my pre-doctoral residency at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where I was able to serve a diverse population in both urban and rural settings.
In my clinical work, I aim to communicate in a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental manner. My goal is to create a trusting and comfortable space so that I can best understand each individual’s unique strengths, needs, and goals. I have training in multiple evidenced-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), short-term psychodynamic, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), and I often integrate these approaches in a collaborative manner to help clients gain insight and make meaningful changes. I value life-long learning and continual growth and am honoured to assist others with their personal goals.

I am a registered Clinical Psychologist whose areas of practice include work in clinical psychology, school psychology and counselling psychology with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Windsor and went on to complete my Master's degree and Doctorate in Clinical Developmental Psychology at York University in Toronto. I am grateful to have been trained in a variety of mental health settings, including the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), the Hincks Dellcrest Centre, Surrey Place Centre and Aisling Discoveries Child & Family Centre
in Toronto. I am registered as a member of the College of Psychologists as an autonomous psychologist.
My treatment approaches include, but are not limited to, psychoanalytic/
psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural, humanistic, hypnosis-based, art-based, play-based, attachment-focused and trauma-focused therapies. I offer services in English and in French. My services include individual therapy with children, adolescents and adults, as well as dyadic parent-child therapy and family therapy. My approach to therapy comes from a strong belief in empowering clients to find strengths and answers within themselves. I believe that in therapy, a client should feel supported and accepted and that families in conflict should all feel seen and heard. I use an integrative approach to therapy that incorporates therapeutic approaches and strategies that are tailored to the unique needs and personalities of each client.
Melissa Wuerch
I received my doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of Regina in Saskatchewan after completing my predoctoral residency with the London Clinical Psychology Residency Consortium (LCPRC) in Ontario. As a clinical psychologist, I am registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario to work with children, adolescents, and adults. I am also a member of the Ontario Psychological Association.
My clinical services include psychotherapy as well as assessment of mental health concerns and learning difficulties. I have experience working with children, adolescents, their families, and adults across a variety of settings, including community mental health clinics, hospitals, and private practice. Through these experiences, I have worked with a range of presenting concerns, including mood and anxiety disorders, behavioural and emotional difficulties, trauma and attachment disturbances, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder, eating disorders, and struggles with identity development.
My approach to clinical work is one that is integrative and person-centered. I value the opportunity to create a space that encourages reflection, growth, and meaningful change. I am honoured to work alongside individuals as they recognize, reflect, and build upon their inherent strengths and resilient nature to overcome challenges. This, for me, is the most rewarding aspect of clinical work.
I am grateful to be a part of Lakeside Psychology and practice in the Essex County area, which is where I was born and raised and am proud to call home. It is a pleasure to practice with colleagues who are person-centered and value compassion and growth.

I am a doctoral candidate at the University of Windsor studying Child Clinical Psychology. I previously completed my Bachelor of Arts at McGill University in Honours Psychology with a minor in Gender, Sexuality, Feminism, and Social Justice Studies in 2020. I then received my Master of Arts in Child Clinical Psychology from the University of Windsor in 2022.
Additionally, I hold training
certificates for working with 2SLGBTQ individuals, suicide assessment and counselling, and dialectical behavioural therapy.
Under the supervision of Dr. Wuerch, my clinical services include psychotherapy and psychological assessments for children and adolescents. My approach to clinical work is integrative- informed by cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, and
acceptance and commitment therapy- in considering the implications of individual differences and diverse identities. In both research and clinical work, I prioritize intersectional considerations of lived experiences. I am honoured to be joining the Lakeside Psychology team for my clinical practicum placement this year!
